Once candidates are shortlisted for the Group Discussion, they are informed about their selection on the as well as by email. A schedule is given to each candidate regarding the date, time and venue of Group Discussion. This year the Group Discussion process will only be conducted in Pune. Dates for the same will be announced in the website at a later date.

The Group Discussion is a 50 minute process where a group of 8 to 9 applicants is formed. Groups for the Group Discussion are formed separately for each category. However students of various categories are likely to attend the process in the same group under exceptional circumstances. Gender ratio is sustained throughout all groups. We attempt that candidates from the same residential cities are not arranged in the same group. Candidates are arranged in order of their names for the purpose of grouping.

During the Group Discussion the candidates are judged on various criteria by two expert panelist. The group discussion is an elimination round which implies that only candidates exhibiting certain competencies are selected for the personal interview.

Please note that the group discussion is not conducted for candidates from Handicap category.

On completing the group discussion, candidates who are selected for the next round will attend the personal interview. The personal interview is a 15 minute process where the candidate is interviewed by two panelist. The GDs and PIs are assessed on the basis of a Competency Framework designed each year for SCMHRD.
